PostSubject: Rules That I Think Are Best...   Mon Dec 07, 2009 11:45 pm

These are my rules that I think are best for any forum.
1. No Advertising! (As long as it's not overdone, I don't mind it in your signature.) -10 points Sigs are aloud if for non-profit-
2. Pogeemon complainers, grow up, really... -20 points to spam meter-
3. If you say hate, I love you too. -See below for punishment-
4. I will accept Wi-Fi battles but don't nag me for it.-+ 5-20 points on Spam based on time length.-

These rules apply towards the forums and the users.
1. NO INAPPROPRIATE LANGUAGE/FLAMING/BASHING/PRESSURING/INSULTING and also RESPECT OTHER'S OPINIONS (Except when it comes to Chrono Trigger!)
This is my biggest rule. Everything needs to be friendly. Keep in mind that younger people may be here and they really don't need to see or read inappropriate stuff. ***** or !@#$% are okay. Lets say that Happy was considered inappropriate language. H**** and H***Y are not acceptable. Don't use Inappropriate language!!! With the new forums, I got censoring so unless you wanna embarrass yourself and make a fool of yourself by saying stupid stuff, don't swear. In addition, no verbal fighting, if me or the assistants have to break up a fight that you start, you will for surely be kept on document and watched over a little bit more then everyone else.

Inappropriate language can range anywhere between 1 and 100 on the spam meter depending on the seriousness of it.
Flaming/Bashing/Pressuring/Insulting is 50 points to spam meter. If towards a mod/admin, a full spam meter and a 1 week suspension.

2. NO SPAMMING, FLOODING, OR DISRUPTIVE POSTING
Spamming includes double posting. Just edit you comment instead of double posting. When you comment, make sure it has at least 3 words, on topic, and is not annoying. An example of annoying is saying something like WEEEEEEEE. Wrong!!! BAD!!! (Please note that this topic was triple posted due to the insane amount of length so don't get ideas. XD)

Should you spam, every deleted post adds to your spam meter.

3. DON'T GIVE OUT PERSONAL INFORMATION
For your own safety, I really recommend you don't give out personal information. If you want to, go ahead but I think it would be a big mistake especially if you are younger. A general idea of where you live such as a country is not a bad thing. It's probably better so people have an idea of your background as well as time zone. Names, I recommend first and first name only but again, the younger you are, the more you should keep personal information to yourself.

Punishments happily enjoy uhhhh, possibly getting stalked, maybe shot in the head by a stalker. Break this rule at your own risk, just know I'm not responsible for the punishment you receive and you can't sue me so live with it, or rather if your dead for breaking this rule, don't haunt me. XD

4. YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR OWN ACCOUNT
People, don't give out your password ever. That is just plain dumb. Make you password a good one too. Something like Skarmory is a horrible password and could easily be guessed. Something like 971547864olowazz is something nobody could guess or even wahflol would be good. ? and / are good things that people don't think of when trying to hack accounts so those are recommended.

Punishments pretty much consist of being hacked, and yeah being hacked, maybe being hacked some more and yeah, you might get hacked. I think my point is clear, break at your own risk.

5. NO INNAPOPRIATE CONTENT SUCH AS RACISM AND SEXUAL CONTENT OR ILLEGAL STUFF
This is a rule that should be followed. Please people, don't put stuff like Illegal Material, Spyware, Racism comments or other similar stuff. We have younger people here, no sexual content either, if it happens, I'm just banning you, I'm not even going to argue it. This category pretty much says if your doing anything majorly bad, you will be banned so fast, you will not have any chance of defending yourself and explaining your reasoning and I pretty much won't care.

Racism/Sexism/disrespecting religions/any isms follow as 50 points to ban meter
Sexual Content and Illegal Content consist of 30 points to ban meter

6. DON'T POST TO RAISE YOUR RANK
This can fall under spam. Don't just post nonsense to raise your rank on these forums. You will be put on trial if me or my assistants notice you spamming or posting with no reason to raise your rank.

Same as spam for punishments.

8. Bumping
There are some old topics that haven't been posted in for a month or two, and have probably been forgotten about. However, some people have decided to post in those forgotten topics, bringing em up to the front lines. That, my friends, is called "Bumping a topic" because it bumps it to the top. Now, I'm not saying that's a bad thing. Sometimes, it can be for good uses, like an old Platinum discussion topic bumped up because more info has been released, that's a good reason. If you bump a topic just to agree with someone, or spam in some way, however, that's NOT good. I'm just saying that if the topic died out, it probably wasn't too popular to begin with, and if there's nothing more to add to it, then just let it fall behind. If it's only a few days old, it probably isn't even considered bumping but when it gets past a week, that's when it deserves a good reason to post. In addition, you should try to avoid double topics which is a different variation of bumping. If you can go a few pages without seeing a topic you wish to post, then your fine but if the same topic is on the 1st page, we have issues. I'm just letting you guys know when Bumping is OK and when it isn't.

1-10 points to spam meter depending on the bump.

9. Chat Room Rules
1) All forum rules apply here except for minor spamming, excessive spamming is not acceptable.
2) There is no censoring system on the chat room, DO NOT CURSE!
3) Do not interrupt court cases, if you aren't aware of a court, we will warn you once.

Chatroom punishments go on the spam meter and follow the same as the guidelines depending on the seriousness of what you've done meter. Swearing however is doubled due to the seriousness of no censor system. You get a warning, a kick, and a ban from the chatbox. If you want to earn your chat rights back, after 2 weeks, you can take a forum rules test and if you get perfect on it, you can gain your rights back.

Legislation

.11. Pity Party Rule (Added May 23, 2009)
We hate pity, pity, pity! This rule basically puts it that no matter how much you try to act innocent or how much you throw your pity party, it doesn't work. What you do is your own actions. And if your pity party is turning people against us, then we have you for lying as well because chances are, if your innocent, there is no need for a pity party. Don't throw pity parties. They're annoying. Should we feel your throwing a pity party, 20 points to the spam meter.

12. Video Posting Rule (Added May 23, 2009)
After some recent video events on the forums, let's discuss the rules of posting videos. First off, don't post videos to advertise unless you are me or another mod since these are kinda my forums and I have that right. Second off, the videos you post must be kept clean. If a moderator views a video that breaks rules above (or below) then they will remove and state why in replacement. Third off, no posting videos on the chatbox, they're to big to put in such a place. If you post an inappropriate video, punishments will range depending on what the content was in it. The points to the spam meter will vary based on content.

13. Copyright Rule
DON'T COPY OTHER PEOPLE'S ART(Unless they let you use it),YOUTUBE VIDEOS,ex. Such as copying their words.
Breaking the copyright rule will be between 50-100 on the spam meter as well as addition to the ban meter based on the seriousness.

15.Quote Rule
This rule is just to mainly make everyone stop quoting people that post right about them. USE THEIR NAME INSTEAD OF QUOTING!

2 Points to spam meter for unnecessary quoting.

16. Double Account Rule
We made it so users can't change there username due to mods losing track of who people are. If you wish to change your name, consult with an admin (other than me preferably). However, since this rule has come in effect, we've been noticing people with more than one account. Due to this, it is officially illegal to have more than one account on these forums. If you already have two accounts, we won't punish you but we ask that you consult an admin and ask them to delete the account you don't want. From now on, if we catch you with multiple accounts, you will automatically have all accounts deleted keeping only the oldest account you have (we check IP addresses often so don't think you'll get away with it for long). Should you be using an Internet connection with somebody else, you need to instantly inform us so we know your IP addresses match.

Punishments will include your backup account deleted. Your main account will have a 50 point add on to the ban meter with a two week suspension following. Please let us know if your breaking this rule, we won't punish you if you tell us right away. Mods CAN break this rule.

17. Sig Rules & Avatar Rules
I've been noticing sigs that take up way to much space. In order to help this situation, your signature should not be very tall. It should not exceed much more than 300 pixels. If you have a lot of junk going straight down, move some stuff to be side by side. This will help out. Please note that all rules still apply to sigs. You are not to have any forms of swearing or other forms of rule breaking in images and such. Avatars should are something that must remain strict. You can not have huge avatars, they are to be kept small such as my avatar over at the left.

Punishments will vary depending on the seriousness of your sig/avatar being out of hand. We are not strict on this rule except for the avatars but we want you to try to keep your sig neat. My sig is an example of a good sig.

18. Lying Rule
I don't know why I need to make this rule because it's common sense but honestly, some people lie like it doesn't matter. You are not supposed to lie to the mods/admins of these forums. You are only hurting yourself. Especially if your lying about breaking another rule. Should we find you are lying to us, you will be strictly punished and it will go on your ban meter.

Last but not least, HAVE FUN!!!
This place isn't supposed to be boring, it's supposed to be fun so have a good time here.
If you make an account, post, make use of it, don't let it rot or I will delete it over time.

Legislation
Rules are always subject to change and that is why the moderators often take the time to read over the rules and make sure they are fair and just. The moderators and admins of these forums are free to attempt to pass new laws. We do not use the chat room for this, we chat elsewhere for legislation. Whenever a rule comes into question, it is written out and the moderators vote on it. IF the rule is not passed, it is dead. IF the rule is passed by the moderators/admins, then it is up to me to make the rule become a rule officially. I do not vote on a rule however unless there is a tie. Once the bill is to me, I can pass it or veto it. If it's vetoed, another vote is required needing at least one more vote then a majority. So on a 5 person mod/admin system excluding me, 4 votes would be required to override a veto. 4 or less would require a full agreement on the rule. I don't see myself vetoing bills often though.

Users often have excellent ideas as well. It is in your best interest to consult with a moderator (this means moderators, not admins) to help get your idea suggested as only mods and above can get rules or ideas enacted. It also helps posting under suggestions. We always support the view of the users themselves.
